How would these wheels perform on wet tarmac or damp surfaces?
They do have good traction on most surfaces as the wheel tread finds holed and cracks within the surface to lever off. However like all urethane wheels they will slip and slide if the surface is wet. If sliding is your thing that’s great but we don’t necessarily recommend it.
I have an electric skateboard that i'm riding in L.A. Will these wheels help with comfort on rough surfaces? The tracks around here are really cracked and lumpy.
Absolutely. Thats exactly what these wheels are designed for. Not really ‘off-road’ but definitely ‘rough road’. They boast 75% of the comfort of all terrain wheels but none of the torque issues or punctures. You’ll lose a little torque if youre moving up from a smaller wheel size but gain some top speed! But the main benefit really is the comfort levels on the 120mm Foamies you can ride for longer with less fatigue or sore feet.
Will these wheels give me less torque compared to my all terrain pneumatic wheels?
Its likely that you’ll need to change your pulley for the Foamies if moving from pneumatic to the foamies. This is typical for evolve skateboards. You’ll need the street setup for evolve skateboards. If you are slotting the Foamies straight on to a pulley and increasing the size of your current wheel then you will lose a little torque but gain some top speed. As the wheel gets bigger the turning force required increases and hence you’ll lose some torque. But as mentioned, on the other hand you should get some higher top speed and truly awesome confirm.
Will these wheel fit on to my Evolve Skateboard?
As long as you have the street setup for your evolve the Foamies will slot straight on. You may have to remove the evolve belt covers to allow the Foamies to fit in place. But with the motor mounted at the rear this usually isnt an issue. They will not currently work on the Evolve Stoke/ Evolve Bantam without solid risers to increase the distance from wheel to deck. But please email us for more information regarding this and future updates.
Will these wheels fit on to my boosted board?
Yes they will mount on to your boosted and look awesome, but you will need to purchase the conversion kit. They will work on V2 models and after. For the Mini X and Mini S boosted boards you’ll need additional solid risers to increase the clearance between the wheels and deck as well as some longer bolts. But that isnt too much of a task to install them.
Do the Foamies electric skateboard wheels come with bearings already installed?
Absolutely. No need to buy any or install them. ABEC 7 super smooth bearings come as standard and ensure long life and super smooth rolling with almost no resistance. Plus the included and already installed bearing spacers ensure the perfect spacing in the foamies. The bearings are also standard skateboard size, 22mm outer diameter, 8mm inner diameter and 7mm wide. So if you ever wish to try out other bearings on the market, its really easy to swap them out.
Can I mount these on to a normal longboard or skateboard?
The bearings on the Slick Revolution Foamies are standard skateboard and longboard size so they will fit on to any regular truck. However you should be aware of wheelbite. Make sure that you have enough room between the deck and where the wheels will sit, especially when carving, as the wheels move closer to the deck. For this reason they are much better suited to longboards with longer noses and tails. But fear not! You can always add risers and longer bolts to increase the distance between wheel and deck. If you’re not sure if your deck and truck combo will work, ask a question below or simply email us.
What durometer are the Foamies and will you bring out any more durometers?
The Foamies are 78A durometer which is great for grip, heavy carving and fast riding. But not great for sliding. We don’t plan to introduce any other durometers as with the foam core, they behave differently to solid urethane wheels. The foam makes them feel much softer than 78A when riding so we don’t see a need to introduce another level of durometer. Plus 78A is long lasting too! We found the perfect balance.
